The Funny Side of 2012
1
I know this topic is very serious and thousands of people all across the world, oops I am sorry, I mean millions of people all across the world are constantly searching the cyberspace to find a clue on how we can survive the deadly year of 2012 which will swallow the entire humanity in just one gigantic gulp. I often wonder what these people are up to because if the entire world is about to destroy than where are they going to find the hiding place? On the moon?
Well, the comic part of the year 2012 is that no one actually knows if the events will actually happen or not and the amount of panic already created is phenomenal. If you remember there was a same kind of hysteria going on when we were on the turn of the century and people were worried about Y2K and that a big comet from the sky will fall on us that will create huge walls of waves that will flush out the entire human race but we have already cross one entire decade after that year and still the height of waves are the same.
Hollywood always likes to cash on the hot topics and therefore Roland Emmerich came up with his version of disaster movie called 2012. The movie has some awesome special effects where skyscrapers fell down like pack of cards and roads and runways broke into pieces and John Cusack who is the best driver in the world is able to drive his car to different places without getting a single scratch. Finally, we see huge waves wiping out the entire India and crossing Himalayas where temperatures run down so low that water turns into ice than why the waves didn’t chilled into ice immediately.
Another funny thing that I hear about 2012 is that the Mayan calendar ends on 20th December 2012 and there is no 21st December 2012 as per their calendar which means that we will die that day. Well, if that is really true than governments should cut down the formalities of visa and emigration and allow people from all over the world to travel wherever they want because we only have two more years to enjoy and it would be a good idea if we could get a chance to do whatever we want in these two years.
I guess if there is a giant whirlpool that will swallow us than we should be ready with some huge surfboard so that we can enjoy the last moments of our life and you never know we might land in some safe place where we can hang on for few years. Many of us will prefer to move to Antarctica because the temperature there is really low and there is no problem of a tsunami down there and once you are in the South Pole you will never need a compass in your life because any direction you go it will be a north direction.
